OpenView MRI Awarded ACR Accreditation
OpenView MRI has received a three-year magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The "gold standard" ACR accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.
The accreditation is awarded to facilities that meet ACR practice guidelines and technical standards based on a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides practices comprehensive reports for continuous practice improvement.
New for the ACR Accreditation this year, OpenView MRI was assessed and awarded for quality on each modality (e.g., area of the body), rather than an overall accreditation.
"Providing superior service and offering state-of-the-art technology is our long-standing mission," said Kris Smith, director of operations, OpenView MRI. "The ACR accreditation reinforces that physicians and patients throughout Fort Wayne are receiving the best care possible at OpenView."
OpenView MRI first received accreditation in 2002, and has continued its dedication to maintaining the policies and procedures outlined by the ACR.
The American College of Radiology is a national professional organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
